Seriously? The internet/wifi went down...was it Marriott's fault, do you know that to a certainty or was it their provider that had an issue? What if the power goes out, is that Marriott's fault as well?
I don't think anyone's necessarily defending them any more than the OP is seemingly making a normal every day annoyance that we might all face in our own homes into a BIG deal because it happened at a hotel.
