Drove around the main entrace of the PH, no valet in sight, no single person around. You could have told me the hotel is closed, I'd have believed it, and this was on a Sunday afternoon with perfect weather.
The area would be quiet, sure, but I saw nothing to do there. If you wanted to walk out of the hotel it would feel pretty lonely, I saw no shops, restaurants right outside, beaver creek looked unimpressive compared to the rivers right near the HP Keystone and GH Vail. You would be more likely to drive outside of that gated resort area every time you leave the hotel, I would not go without a car. I don't know about winter, the hotel might be more suitable for skiing and the area might be more lively then perhaps? Maybe I missed something because I just looked from the car, it's possible.
I guess by the road you took you didn't see Beaver Creek Village. If you walk out certain directions of the PHBC you wouldn't feel lonely as you'd be in a pretty lively area with shopping, dining, live music, hiking center, etc.
