Yes, I do get to the next screen, and that confirms I have only nominated one person (for gold), but when I attempt to nominate the person whose silver has expired, I get an error message. Time for an email I think (and thanks for reminding me about the email address - I always ring).
If their Silver has just expired, that would mean they just reached their year end. Nominations seem not to work until about 2 weeks after the nominees year end, in my experience.
