Oakland Airport information

Southwest Airlines overnight disclosures

Expecting passengers to be kicked out of terminal areas is a major dis-service to the flying public. What other Southwest’s overnight cities should they be providing additional warnings? MDW?

This has been common practice in the airline industry for years; WN FINALLY brought their systems up to 20th century standards (pun intended) to allow redeyes, overnight connections; in the past, it might have been necessary to buy 2 separate tickets. Before AA offered the SAN-MIA redeye, I would often book Caribbean awards SAN-DFW-XXX where it would be necessary to stay in a DFW area hotel between flights. Similar options were available through PHX. Instead of arriving late at an expensive resort destination, losing most of a day's vacation, it made sense to stay in an economy airport hotel, start vacation earlier in the day.
