Ventana is only the place to stay if you've never been across Highway One to the Post Ranch Inn. Post Ranch is half the size and twice the quality; truly one of the more extraordinary places to stay. It is quite expensive, especially for an Ocean room, which is dug into the side of the cliff, but it is absolutely worth it.
Of course I'm biased, it is probably our favorite weekend getaway...
