Name of the hotel: Novotel London Brenford

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Superior queen bed booked, upgraded to Executive room with a smaller Double bed

- How are the rooms? Quite nice for a Novotel - not a traditional french Novotel. Obviously heavily business orientated due to location and 2 executive floors from 7 in total. Hotel feels like it has been updated comparatively recently but looks like done in 2014. Modern furnishings and design, and still in reasonable condition. The normal nespresso machine and bathrobe/slippers, etc. Bathroom has a photo-chromic (?) glass wall to the bedroom, which took a few seconds to find the button to activate. While fun to have do guests really want a view of commercial West London from the bathroom?

- What was good and what was bad?
Bad: while upgraded to an executive room the bed felt quite small compared to the queen bed originally reserved. there was plenty of room for a 30cm wider bed. Designed for more typical single occupancy?
Underground cark park was a little tricky to find the first time as it's not well signposted off the A4/M4, and only certain parking spaces there are permitted for Novotel Guests, also poorly indicated.
While obviously a business hotel, the desk was quite small to work on.

Good:
The room was a good size with comparatively lots of walking space.
Staff very friendly and try to engage on a personal level, from reception staff to bar to room attendants.
I rarely eat in hotels such as this but was pleasently surprised by the restaurant food for presentation and size.
I had unknowingly mis-booked for 1 guest instead of 2. At checkin we got 2 welcome drinks, but at breakfast they found only 1 guests was listed instead of 2. The breakfast lady checked with reception and no further charge was made for the 2nd breakfast on either of 2 days. Not sure the reason why, but a nice gesture with nothing being said.
The breakfast itself was quite good too.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? 2 drinks received with the key card, but 1 shown on the app. Executive room upgrade, no welcome gift. Free breakfast for 1 guest due to booking error?

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? First night (saturday) seemed very expensive at >£200 despite the hotel seeming quite empty except for a chinese bus tour group. The second night semmed a lot busier with independent guests but was less than half of the price. Yes, Would stay here again.
