I know I'm not (and never will be) Plat, but on yesterday's KLM flight, the chef de cabine came up to me with the tablette before the lunch service and asked for my choice of plat principal, so they could set it aside. I opted for the cold chicken salade, because the two hot items sounded atrocious (ravioli or beef chipotle, whatever terrible thing that is).

There was a last minute change of appareil and the route was not originally intended to be served with W, the catering was not loaded correctly. This seems to be a common KLM occurrance though. Anyway, it was a nice gesture and appreciated.
