It's not that currywurst isn't a local favorite in Berlin per se. I was trying to say there is nothing local about the currywurst served at the Lindner, as it likely comes from a factory in Lower Saxony. Fully-finished product that just needs to be re-heated in the microwave or steamer.
You considering the currywurst at the Lindner Kudamm a positive is like me (as a German) claiming "if you want a solid American breakfast, just book any American airport Holiday Inn Express and get some scrambled eggs, sausages, and hash browns during breakfast." Or: "Wanna taste the real American burger? Head straight to McD!"
If you want a (at least, somewhat) decent currywurst near the Lindner Kudamm, just exit the hotel and walk for five minutes (to Curry Wolf or Curry 36).
I find the Lindner has a particularly poor breakfast. IMO, the breakfast buffet is not a reason to pick this Hotel. Instead, it is a reason to avoid this hotel.
