Totally agree with most of the points above but wanted to clarify that most of the rooms (all but a handful) at the Langham DO have seperate step in showers. I've personally never experienced that issue with the beds but it's totally unexcusable. So I really think you are due some service recovery from the hotel.
Overall, in terms of price / value I would go Premier Room at FS (which almost always upgrades to a partial harbour if not full with FSPP) or the Langham where all the rooms are generously sized but a top floor terrace room on the harbour side would probably be the best choice. But overall, I've also had nothing but positive experiences here even booking a lead in room and find that Couture guests are always upgraded to at least a harbour facing room on 2-3/F. And the rates at the Langham are often very low during off/shoulder season, much more so relative to the FS.
I would not stay at the Shangri-la even if it was in a suite and free of charge and that is coming from a guest who has spent hundreds of nights there over the years. The place is a dump and they just do not care.
As with most things in the true luxury space these days you are paying 3x for the PH or Capella for something that is maybe 20% better on a good day, which I personally don't find to be worth it.
