I am seeing that as an AAdvantage Platinum Pro I will have OneWorld Emerald status. Would it be the best option to spend our layover using the BA lounge as opposed to the Admirals Club options at Terminal A or B/C? The only disadvantage I see at first glance is the BA lounge closes at 20:20, which is about 40 minutes before we would be expecting to make our way to the gate for boarding.
Many thanks in advance for any thoughts and comments!
The BA lounge won't work for you. It is open from 3:15pm to 5:30pm with everyone out at 5:45pm. The BA flight is at 6:30pm. They are only open to support that one BA flight. Your only options are the AmEx Centurion lounge (if you have a Plat card) or the AA club. The AmEx club is small - but in the international terminal A. The larger AA club is between Term B and C.
I see the OW website says 8:20pm - but my experience is they close at 5:30pm. Unless AA is paying to keep it open.
