Bicycle Policy

I am trying to figure out what an exemption on Turkish Airlines website means. Background, flown with my bike on Turkish two times this year, was charged one way, not the other. Flying again and just trying to figure out what actually is correct.

On their site at https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-i...pment/bicycle/ there is the fairly clear policy first. Below that is the following text:

"Applicable until December 31, 2024 (inclusive): Valid for all network flights departing from destinations other than Türkiye and arriving to Antalya, Alanya(Gazipaşa), Adana, Kayseri, Nevşehir and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and on return flights (Turkish Airlines flights only; does not include Interline flights) from these destinations, we will transport one bicycle as part of the checked baggage allowance applicable to your ticket. Additional fees will be charged when transporting more than one piece of sports equipment."

I read that as being allowed a bike as part of the normal allowance but check in at least in Taipei disagreed and said their computer does not allow this. The text is not exaclly written in a clear way. If charged wrongly what is the best way to try to get the fee returned?
