OUI, I attempted to do the onboard exercises. The key word is attempted, as I could not move. Plus I always stretch for an extra few minutes before AND after boarding a long flight and I keep myself well-hydrated.

Again, it seems as if I need to carify,

Yes, the incident occured a few years ago. I wrote this question in this forum now since I did not know of Flyer Talk back then.

No, I do not wish for any compensation at this time. I left it to their discretion back then, as they do in other situations when something discomforts a passenger, and received a standard, response denying me anything (I would have been ok, with a few miles on top of their apology- an apology does seem to denote that they could have made my flight more comfortable).

The point is that in the letter I sent them, I did mention the seat was extremely uncomfortable, I did mention that the foot rests were jamming up against my chins, that the pax in front would only exacerbate the problem by leaning back even further. I am not overweight- just that yes, I should have gotten another seat assignment to avoid this problem. This is called learning my lesson.

All I wanted was some feedback from any one that has previously addressed the FLA cust. service ctr. and gotten anything for any similar situation. I have read on other airline forums people getting lots of miles for really "retarded" situations (as my former middle school students would say) like having faulty A/V equipment onboard. Including seat discomfort. Trust me, I am probably a lot less stocky (not to imply lack of health on anyone's part r myself... just that my frame is athletic and I am a tall guy) that many FTers out there...

Finally, I am appaled that just because we pay for a coach seat it is implied that we have less rights to a comfortable ride. It isn't 20 bucks what we pay to cross the ocean but rather quite a larger sum... Telling a pax to pay a higher fare to ensure that they don't pass out on board is quite a large leap from just ensuring that a passenger's health are protected in any cabin onboard.

Thanks for the reminder about the exercise, though. many people continue to push their limits of comfort... And if I ever do fly with Air France again, you can bet that I will follow the obvious steps to end up on a better coach seat. Or just use my elite status on another airline to my advantage.

I was just inkling for some feedback, not a judgement into the validity or worthiness of my situation... as I am sure that any of you would want something back if it happened to you.
