most of he conventional "express" services should take a little under 3 hours from the centre of Jakarta to the centre of Bandung. The HSR project bypasses Bandung, rather than diverting into the city, on the way to Yogya and eventually Surabaya. Well, that's the plan... The HSR station is next to Halim airport in the south-east of the city, maybe not the most convenient location for visitors.
