Different route, but when I have a morning meeting in the EU/UK, I fly over Friday night and get acclimated to the local time. I pay my own extra expenses, and would sometimes dine with clients. I do not consider having to spend two extra days in Europe a hardship. What is more, I would sometimes have colleagues try to fly over Saturday or even Sunday night have flight delays and miss all or half of the first day’s meetings. And while I have flown over Sunday night for a Monday meeting when necessary, I do not recommend it. The brain fog is a real problem. Mind, as a principal, I am responsible for the success of the trip, so willing to go the extra mile.
