What are possibilities of an upgrade offer on LX from GVA to JFK next week?
I am booked as UA9720 on 106 ticket stock, so maybe I should have a look on the UNITED website. I post my question here because the operating carrier is LX.
ETA - Just had a look on both the UA and LX websites and it is possible to select seats in Economy on the LX site. No sign of a Business class offer, so I might have to wait until check-in opens. How long before departure does OLCI open for flights to the USA? Just for info, I am in L-class on the TATL.
Prior to that, in true Flyertalk style, I have a flight from FRA to BRU with SN (operated by LH), then BRU to GVA with SN (operated by LX).
On a UA codeshare you will not see upgrade offers. Neither on UA or LX sites.
Your only chance is to buy an upgrade when OLCI opens or any time thereafter including at the gate or on board. Looks like you will check in with LH then, but oh my ... all codeshares ... no native flight numbers. Not sure what the LH system is going to spit out - you will have to try. OLCI opens 23 hours before your first flight segment. Since the LH system is now in place for all LH group airlines it 'should' show available upgrades for the LX segment out of GVA.
