I appreciate everyone's patience on this forum. I've been asking a lot of questions here lately as I'm trying to ramp up my knowledge about the BAEC programs.

A new question popped into my head while trying to build a TP run solely on US based OW flights (AA and/or AS).

One earns 80 TP when flying LHR to HEL regardless if flying AY or BA, which amounts to ~1151 air miles. However, if I fly AUS to SEA in business, I would only earn 40 TPs on AS, although the air miles flown would be ~1770. Just trying to understand the discrepancy. My initial thought it is based on the carrier in question, and how many TPs they are willing to part with to BA, but I could be wrong, which unfortunately is too frequent of an occurrence.
