Unlike other countries boarding is typically not a nightmare here and bin space is rarely an issue. The fact it's common to complete boarding in under 15 mins on an A320 is quite remarkable compared to boarding in the US.

With well over 50% of passengers having status on many peak time main trunk flights I'm not really sure what people actually want to change or what benefits there would be in slowing down the boarding process.
Bit different with turboprops though. I have to put my bag in the overhead at the front of the aircraft due to full bins, even when seated at the rear.
