More precisely, it was said miles would not expire as long as one used the card. If the card is no more, it obviously can't be used anymore and miles expire again after 36 months (unless one has status with M&M).

Not all miles will expire in June 2025. Only those earned before June 2022.

With the withdrawal of the card, your miles are not protected against expiration anymore, but their life is not shortened below the usual 36 months.
