Completely agree, they are shocking at even being able to offer the benefits they currently advertise to gold/elite tiers (for example no seating in lounges). I also regularly fly domestically on jet aircraft from Auckland, priority boarding is almost impossible, they make one boarding announcement for priority boarding and then immediately move into all row numbers, but the setup of the gate lounges at Auckland means getting to the front to board early is practically impossible.
Dont get me started on priority baggage delivery, thats hit and miss too.

I dont see the point in offering another tier until they can at least offer the benefits the existing tiers are entitled to.
