because it’s cancelled 6 weeks in advance, I understand no compensation applies.
But does that mean they also aren’t liable to cover the cost of the extra 2 nights hotel I will need?
I had a flight back from Alicante cancelled more than 14 days early in July. I tried to claim expenses, not compensation for one night, and they have refused 'saying 'compensation (which I was not claiming for) was not payable given >14 days notice. It seems if the flight is cancelled >14days you are on your own regarding expenses until you get on a replacement flight.
