Well, the thing that matters in the customer experience is that it’s a 7-hour flight - call it what you will! It sounds like UA is too cheap to provision a decent pillow and blanket in United First, even on a redeye, something that I would guess amortizes to <$1 per pax per segment in procurement, maintenance and fuel burn over the material’s life expectancy. But that’s what you get on routes without real competition these days.
This is a $1,000 flight round trip.
I went to Family Dollar today and paid $19 for two standard size pillows and 4 pillow cases that I can just leave on the plane when disembarking. Already have the blankets.
