We arrived a bit early, but was able to check in and get our room immediately. Not much in terms of an upgrade, unless you count the higher floor. Looking at the floor layout plan in the room, there seem to be very few larger rooms and suites, and a lot of standard sized rooms, so probably never a great place for upgrades. Check in was quick and efficient, though the agent had to link two bookings, and remarking they had not even been open for two weeks so still a lot to get used to. The elite benefit sheet mentioned 4pm check out as a guaranteed benefit, and we got that without concern or question despite the hotel being very busy.

The room had a good size, though a bit odd layout around the sink and vanity. And almost no closet space. Views were great.

The gym is good and open 24 hours. The ofuro (Japanese bath, not hot spring water) was excellent and free for elite members.

The breakfast is really good, wide selection, high quality, and a solid cava for a glass of sparkling wine or a mimosa for breakfast. I think the first morning was the first time they had to run breakfast for the hotel a full capacity, and there was a lot of room for improvement, but the second morning was as busy and they had already changed some processes around to make it run better. While the breakfast is great, if it is not included it is 9,000 yen per person which is steep.

The JP tower has a lot of food options, and it is definitely worth going to B1 to try some "street" food, or some of the options on floors 1 to 5. Not associated with the hotel, so bring your credit card no room charge.

It is a good new option in the hotel market in Osaka, but I do feel the current cash rates are high for what the hotel offers.

By the bed there is USB A and C plus a Japanese outlet, there is only a international multi outlet by the couch. But there is a convert in the room. I can't help feel these metal panels will look super scratched soon.

I remember when Umeda Sky Building was considered very tall.....
Thank you for a such detailed review. P2 and I have a stay here for 2 nights in Nov to explore Osaka. How do you rank this place vs W Osaka if you have stayed there already?
