I agree with the status being dilated when too many people get it, especially since they removed the former top tier. There are already too many people on the top level (since it doesn't matter whether you stay 30, 60 or 100 nights) and handing out status for free won't make it better.

But I disagree with the new program sucking. I have two major issues - they stole my hard earned points (over a million that was supposed to go for a nice redemption somewhere) and they removed the top tier so now I have to fight for upgrades. Otherwise I think it's actually designed well, but the execution sucks (e.g. the mess with renewing status, etc). But there are many great features. Replacing points with discount booster is a perfect feature, I get much more (meaningful) upgrades than I get at Hilton (Diamond) or IHG (Platinum Ambassador) and the unlimited rollover means I have the top tier status guaranteed for years into the future. I can't remember the last time I got suite at Hilton for example, despite spending 90+ nights with them the last year. At Radisson it's pretty much on every other stay at Blu.

RR is a victim of poor execution and lack of communication with customers but otherwise it's a pretty nice programme. I just wish they reintroduced 60+ nights top tier level, primarily to distinguish priority for upgrades (but perhaps throwing in a few more small perks).
