Hi! Just want to give you guys an update, I did the transit on 13th Aug. Everything was running smoothly and I could also see some people doing the transfer with ITA and Saudia.

So generally after the guy on the transit desk has checked your information, he will call someone to guide you to collect the baggage, if you have some. If you don't have a baggage like me, he will call the airline, on which you are going to fly. Some staff from the airline will come over to the transit desk and do the check in there for you. In my case, the boarding pass was printed out directly from the transit desk. It seems, there is no need to go out to the check in counter and come back again. After you got the boarding pass, the staff from the airline will accompany you to go downstairs to the hall, where you will go through the security check.

So how long it takes depends on how long it takes for the airline staff to come over to the transit desk. But the general impression was, that they know what they are doing and will help you get your flight.
