What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Inner Circle Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest rate and was upgraded to 1 King Classic Garden View Lounge Access.

How are the rooms?
Around 55sqm large.

Bedroom very comfortable bed.
Desk, sofa.

Bathroom with massive bathtub area and view, separate walk-in shower.

Byredo Blanche toiletries.

Flat screen television set with good selection of international channels, including HBO, Cinemax and TV5 Monde
No Chromecast.

Nespresso coffee machine. Kettle.
Usb and power sockets next to the bed and desk.

Balcony.
Very quiet. View over the pool area, gardens and Splendid China Folk village

Efficient air conditioning despite high summer temperatures.

No Free PressReader

How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent service and very good food offer.

Dining area.
Large seating area.
Meeting room.

Terrace.

The staff are really attentive. The level of English is poor, so it's best to use a digital translator.

As the hotel is mainly a resort hotel, it is difficult to find a quiet place in the lounge, and even more so during the summer holidays (despite a sign at the entrance to the lounge asking guests to keep quiet).
It would be indeed good to have a dedicated area with phones on silent mode, no kids and no noisy conversations.

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
- Very attentive staff
- Very good lounge for service and food offer.
- Convenient location next to OCT metro station
- Impressive breakfast offer at main restaurant.
- Pleasant pool area: The area is spacious, well laid out and full of plants. There's even a sandy beach.
- Very nice fitness centre with indoor pool for serious swimmers.

BAD
- Nothing

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Club? Would you return?
The hotel is conveniently located just next to OCT metro station.

To visit downtown, however, another choice would be more appropriate (unless you want to make a 20 minutes taxi or metro ride).

The hotel is right next to the OCT Art and Design Gallery (and a stone's throw from Window of the World and Splendid China Folk Village, for those interested).

The hotel should definitely work to enable guests looking to relax in peace and quiet to offer this facility, notably at the club lounge.

The hotel was one of the first InterContinental hotels to open in China (Beijing was the first one). It has made the (very kitsch) choice of having a Spanish theme in its decoration and in the outfits of certain members of staff . Although the hotel is a little dated, it is in a perfect state of condition.
