I explicitly asked if they could rebook all 4 of us on partner metal IAH-SIN and was told they will only do that for 1 J seat at a time (no go - we have young kids & want to stay together).
I then asked if they can book us from IAH to an SQ US gateway city in partner coach and this ask was also denied.
So the best option remaining was to rebook on SQ metal to/from SFO & EWR, both of which are major UA hubs that I can get to without paying a premium in $ or time.
Annoying for sure, but beats trying to figure out a non-SQ redemption ex-IAH and then figuring out how to use a substantial number of stranded KF miles that would be redeposited and age.
Curious to see how they handle your IAH-MAN booking. How many pax do you have?
Maybe see if they will rebook on LH via FRA or TK via IST, given there is really no good SQ alternative to get to your destination from the US? Best of luck.
