while I 100% agree with your "Smack in the Face" sentiment, I don't think there is any way for you to know that the above occurred. I can certainly imagine last minute J ticket purchasers (read, Citadel) can show up ORD-MIA.
300k LPs MIA-ORD, if I had to guess, is not particularly high on the list these days.
Please know that I am as frustrated with the t-100 buy-up options as you are, but I think we live in a new CC-spend-LP world where expensive city pairs allow for very high LP CC flyers, and that some of what you described above COULD be comp upgrades.
