I called the Singapore number and my agent had no problems rebooking us to a SFO outbound and EWR inbound flight.
Neither flight had Saver availability when I checked the website, but there was no pushback to changing the booking (TBH - I was expecting they would ask me to top up to an Advantage award, try to charge a change fee etc.).
I also got the sense that they could've rebooked us on a partner ex-IAH if it was just 1 J seat, but couldn't do it for 4. So rebooking had to be on SQ metal via one of their US gateways.
We really enjoyed the easy access to SIN from IAH, and are very sad to see the end of this flight.
cyclade Did the SQ agent explicitly state that rebooking has to be on SQ metal? I'm glad it worked out for you since your final destination is SIN, but I'm not sure what SQ will do for my rebooking since I had only booked the IAH-MAN leg.
