At first, but this is what we paid for in order to get platinum status for both of us - including staying at terrible Moxys with Mr (yes a first world problem) when he was doing his challenge last fall because he is only 21 nights short for being LTP. He mostly travel with me - it is handy when he goes on business trips (which is rare and the company only let him staying at Moxys - anything more than that it's flagged) and when we are taking our kids with us.

You can vote with your wallet and stay at hotels that are going strictly by the book - CY Bremen and Wolfburg are a few examples. I don't think they can even process the member is a gold and the roomy is a plat thing.
