$400 airline credit would be too easy for us. AMEX is the king of breakage and couponing. Wouldn't be surprised to see them replace the Dell credit with a $4 weekly Dunkin Donuts coffee credit.
I've struggled year after year to do the airline credit. I think though that I missed some of the other tips that people shared on how to get around it. I had Delta and was doing the gift card trick. Problem though is that we almost never flew Delta because it was so much more expensive. And I had to pay for 3 people each time.
