Several seats were non functional for recline including mine..mechanics came on to fix another so it was upright for takeoff. Entertainment system was marginal with only a few very old movies. No safety videos FAs had to do demo. No front lavs so people in J kept being sent back to mid cabin lavs. The FAs were doing a great job in a difficult situation as they were unfamiliar with the aircraft too and it was a unexpected substitution. I was told at checkin I would be getting a pod so took this flight instead of an earlier one.
I would recommend avoiding these aircraft if possible .
Ugh - I was just checking my red-eye YYC-YYZ for tomorrow night and it looks like Fin 950 is scheduled as well. I tend to avoid red-eyes but booked this specifically given it had lay flats so I could get a couple of hours sleep. I can only assume this trend will continue as they re-deploy more wide bodies to Europe/Asia and the domestic flights get stuck with these old SQ planes
