No one here -- so far -- has said that the OP was "in the wrong" for booking a tight connection. It was merely noted that the OP can
reduce the risk of a recurrence by not booking a tight connection, and by not booking a connection to the last flight of the day to his final destination. I assume that you agree with that observation. The OP is certainly free to continue to book his flights the way he has, if he is willing to assume the somewhat higher risk of a missed connection (and a possible unintended overnight at the connecting point). It's a question of risk tolerance, not of right or wrong.
