As a data point my XN fare immediately posted the PQP from the miles and a $300 upgrade to Premium Plus. I’m sad they’ve closed tbe loophole that let you apply Plus Points after that (showed as R but still couldn’t apply) but I balked at 1199 for an eastbound flight LHR-EWR.

then got my very first operational upgrade on United ever.
