We were on the same boat last December as Mr. needs the night to do the Plat challenge. I wrote to the hotels and asked beforehand about benefits and they were kind enough to do it. However there was some hiccup at one of the hotels and they insisted that the reservation had to change to my name in order to have lounge access. I showed them the email from the hotel agreeing that they would honour the benefits under Mr.'s name and after a few back and forth we got it.
It's very common for corporate travel to book through a portal online of some sort. You are lucky that you can bring your spouse for business travels. Mr.'s employers specifically stating that it is not encouraged to bring spouses on business trips and it has to be an exception made by the management in order to bring the spouse along (even travelling on their own dime).
