"is worth" is an unclear term, one metric could be PQP per $ spent. Nominally this is about 1 PQP per $ but it can be lower or higher. Some have achieved (rare) as high as 2 PQP and maybe as low as 0.5 PQP per dollar
Well, fixed on partner tickets up to the PQP cap (which is per segment), which is different from the RDM cap (which is per booking) - so there are breakpoints to keep in mind as well. You can be earning 2PQP on a partner ticket and getting phenomenal value at one price point/distance, but much less on longer flights where the cap kicks in. So not just the airline flown, but the ticket stock is important information. Booking LH through LH and UA will yield different results (and come with potentially different change policies and benefits).
