I found "availability" on these flights for the first time a few days ago on Amex Travel (I'd previously only managed Matrix and sporadic Priceline availability), but running into the same booking failure.
Cathay is strict with point of sale (origin) and married segments. Often they will show 0 availability in C class when married with Bangkok segment even though theyre is plenty of I class from other markets. Try to include a stopover of more than 24 hours in either or both BKK and HKG. Anyway the point of origin Cairo may have limited availability. The best availability on Cathay should be long in advance and last minute when they release remaining seats into lower booking classes.
