I am looking at my upcoming flight in a little less than a week which is pretty full in economy (4 seats in total left) and premium economy (5 seats in total left).
This is CI 54. We are booked into premium economy. My son (9yrs old) and myself are both emerald members.
Now i am not getting my hopes up about a complimentry upgrade and more than happy if nothing happens. But do you think due to the fact my son automatically gets the childs meal they would usually disqualify us for a potential upgrade? I am fine with him getting an adult meal if that means better chances on the list. Premium economy only has 31 seats (A350) so our names otherwise be near top if not near top of the list.
By the way I checked out Business class. There seems to be between 11 to 14 seats remaining available to purchase.
Any suggests if it does affect us being considered for a potential complimentry upgrade?
They usually upgrade by status.
If everyone same status then they go by passengers w/o a special meal, single male, single female, then more than 1 person.
Maybe you shouldn't get your son a special meal? Though I don't think CI gets that full these days so you may just remain in Premium Economy.
