Arrived yesterday at 11:30am and planned to drop bags off. Room was ready when we got there, which was a bonus. Was actually checked in by the member of staff who sorted our pre-upgrade, so it was nice to be able to thank him in person.
Got to the room and housekeeping had set the sofa bed up for our daughter, as well as leaving a toy puffin as her welcome gift. Not sure what the connection is with the hotel and a puffin, but she was delighted with it!
The junior suite is a good size, with plenty of space for a family stay. With yesterday being particularly hot, it was great that the AC was working so well and keeping the room very cool. Housekeeping had put in enough towels for all of us, which is sometimes a problem at some hotels when they only put enough out for 2, when there are 3 people in the room.
Went to the lounge a couple of times yesterday. Popped up on arrival and it was empty. They only had hot drinks and canned water available. They had soft drinks, but hadn't put glasses or bottle openers out for those. We also went in for the evening service. It got quite busy, but plenty of food and drink which was available from 6. Quite a few families in there, with only one group spoiling it for everyone else. They decided to have two kids watching videos on tablets without headphones. They were asked by another guest to turn them down a bit, but the parents seemingly refused to do anything. They were at the opposite end of the lounge to us and we could hear the duelling videos where we were. If you liked Peppa Pig, you were fine though!
Breakfast this morning was good. No wait to be seated, with lots of space. Decent selection of hot and cold food, with plenty of staff clearing tables and replenishing food. Always nice to see a well run breakfast operation!
Great stay so far and glad we chose this hotel as a result.
