When flying to Europe, I'm partial to flying Finnair to Helsinki and venturing from there. Saw one date in January LAX-HEL and quite a few more DFW-HEL for 70K + $19 tax. Unless you want to go to London I prefer not to pay the $589 taxes and use the savings to buy a positioning flight in Europe (after spending some time in HEL, taking a sauna, and/or taking the ferry over to Tallinn.

A friendly reminder - AY's new business class seats now on all its planes, have only 2 positions - sit up right or lie flat, no lounging position. I would NOT want to be in such seat for 7 to 10 hours.
