Wow. Just did a quick count of the departures board at YYC, and WestJet has 27 cancelled flights out of Calgary today (Monday Aug 12). Plus, I assume, many others cancelled originating in other cities too.

All of the YYC cancellations appear to be 737 destinations (i.e. no Q4, no 787), and they include regional (BC and Prairies) flights, cross-country flights (YYZ) and U.S. destinations (IAH, PHX, SEA).

Ouch.

That equates to a massive number of customers whose travel plans will be extremely messed up -- and thousands of very frustrated people. Is the plan to just keep cancelling until they complete all of the repairs? Surely they must be bringing in aircraft from other companies to try to maintain more of their schedule, no?
