But I do think I figured out what happened: When I booked the flight close to a year ago, the were two flights scheduled from IST to SEA on Oct 13, TK213 and TK203. Now there is only one flight, TK203. I'm suspecting that they canceled TK213 and scrambled the seating for TK203 in an effort to concatenate the passengers from the canceled flight, and in the process the business class cabin became completely full.
We booked ours in September 2023 for our trip in September 2024 and there was only 1 flight to SEA, so for our case that wasn't the problem.
I called and confirmed the Aircraft switch and from TK's end they couldn't see ANY available seat AT ALL. She said I need to wait and see what happened. Personally, I don't mind a free change of flight if they are overbooked. From what I can see their A330 have 24 C seats vs 28 seats in A350. If they are fully booked there will be 4 people who they will have to downgrade.
