IHG has a new feature denoting “China Ready” hotels. Not sure exactly what that means, although I’m assuming part of it is securing breakfast buffets against Chinese visitors loading up a dozen croissants and 3 kilos of sliced pineapple for a party of two, putting a dozen plates in the middle of the table, and letting 95% of the food go to waste. On the food wastage, while people from all nationalities can be guilty of taking too much food from buffets, I just saw what you describe at some hotels in Bali and it is terrible how greedy folks can be to then let huge amounts of food they loaded up on go untouched in the end.
