IHG has a new feature denoting “China Ready” hotels. Not sure exactly what that means, although I’m assuming part of it is securing breakfast buffets against Chinese visitors loading up a dozen croissants and 3 kilos of sliced pineapple for a party of two, putting a dozen plates in the middle of the table, and letting 95% of the food go to waste. Interestingly, not all hotels in Hong Kong and Singapore are “China ready”. And perhaps even more interestingly, some in Taiwan are.
