I think that's correct. ISTR that registrations aren't re-used if they've even been reserved. G-GATO was reserved by BA as part of the G-GAT* series of second-hand A320s but the aircraft was rejected by BA (I think) before it even went on the register, but AIUI BA hasn't been able to use that registration for another aircraft so it's another hole in the series.
