Exactly my thoughts. People are willing to pay 2000 Euros a night for a standard room?! Money seems to be worthless today, there is just too much quick money around. On top, with these Destination by Hyatt hotels you don't get any benefits as Globalist. So you really end up in the standard room. I visited the 7Pines Resort Sardinia in early August and managed to stay on points (I would never pay these insane cash prices). Breakfast was charged, no upgrade (was in exactly what I booked and it was very bad, well bathrooms were decent, as described here), no late check out, but a nice bottle of Spumante and some treats as welcome gift with a nice card from the Manager. Went to Cala di Volpe afterwards for a week (also on points, Bonvoy) and I got the exact opposite. Nice upgrade, free bf and late check out!
