Just relaying exactly what my wife went through with this recently and this is the process she had to take to get it to show.
This was actually a last minute rebooking of a AC flight due to AC cancelling that flight. AC made the booking not me - so that possibly had something to do with it. The BP had some reference to my Aeroplan number - not my mileage plus.
In the end I was able to use the pdf BP on my phone - at SAN at least on this occasion they wanted me to scan the BP in addition to checking my ID. So I guess we are not still using facial recognition. I thought I had got access without showing my BP in the past. But it was not busy as I was the only person in the entire precheck line so maybe that wanted something to do?
