Staying here now. Had problem with noise
- We started off with a corner king on floor 6. There were air vents right outside our window, making a high-pitched whine. From what I can tell, half of the corner kings have this issue (maybe less so on floors 7 and 8), and other corner kings share a wall with service elevators.
- Our next room was an upgraded larger suite on the 10th floor. The layout was fantastic, but the minute we walked into the 10th floor hall we could hear a loud hum, and inside the room there was a low pulsating hum that presumably came from equipment on the roof but permeates the entire hotel. It was unbearable for us, so ...
- We finally ended up on the second floor. This is where we are now. The hum is mostly gone, but there is a lot of noise from people (including many excited children) going past our door on the way to the pool - could be bothersome to some - and there was loud music from a pub across the street on Saturday night, although it got quieter at a reasonable hour.
As of now, the lounge breakfast is being served downstairs instead of in the lounge. In my opinion the breakfast and lounge are average for similar North American hotels - OK but nothing compared to, say, the Sheraton Centre in Toronto or the Sheraton at the Toronto airport, and nothing like a European or Asian experience of course.
Totally agree with others' comments about the staff. Very friendly and helpful.
