Well, we just don't know for how long the OP is away when he travels from LON to Upstate New York; presumably, he would have found those Saturday-night-stay fares if he qualified for them.

My guess is that for someone London based traveling on business, it typically would be easier to satisfy a Saturday-night-stay requirement when originating from the U.S. than when originating from LON.
