Flew back from SAN to BOS.
This time, amenity kits were at every seat. No chili oil but there was a packet of chili flakes (presumably for the "pizza") so that was fine.
I went with 2, 3, and 4 (3 and 4 were both hot). The eggplant was very very salty but otherwise tasty. The pizza was this inflated puffy doughy bread thing. It was like a square of foccaccia but without the top, with some toppings. If someone worked for me and told me this was pizza, that person would be fired. The chicken was thigh meat this time, vaguely reminiscent of Centurion Chicken Parts, once you peeled off the soggy skin. The capers were a nice touch, the breadcrumbs were texturally necessary due to the very watery "sauce."
Overall the food was not good but it was adequate for airplane food. Service was friendly on board. Service at SAN was laughably bad as they again tried to charge me for my only checked bag. The agent asked why I double booked, I said I didn't. Then she asked whether I booked through a travel agent, I said no. (My hunch is that using the MTM certificate caused some problem with the booking, but when I tried explaining this to the agent, she firmly told me that was not the explanation. I then asked what the explanation was, and she first said "Well, I'm trying to tell you that." And then she said, "All I have is what my system shows." -- none of this, of course was an explanation.) The agent then told me that she needed to go to the back to take a break. Another agent was able to print out the bag tag with no fee in like 3 seconds but honestly what a joke airline.
