Thank you to everyone who replied. In brief

- I know it is pointless trying to guess an algorithm

​​​​ - I know BA wasn’t being kind to me

- BA indeed doesn’t need my permission to do anything seatwise

- BA’s shareholders are counting the 399£ out amongst themselves (“trebles all round”).

- I’m pleased we have finally unmasked the intern

- BA aren’t going to convince me to pay regularly for their perfunctory J service on this sort of route, this customer won’t foot the bill. Further south on the longer South American stuff yes fine.

I find the PDX flights are crewed by very young cabin crew and the service is by no means stellar.

Flying back last month in J (another POUG) they accidentally served me the dessert (some orange / lemon liquidy crème thing heated up ) as the “mushroom soup”. Attention to detail lol.
